How DonateYourPlot.org Began
It started with a shul that closed.
A once-thriving Jewish community moved, leaving behind a synagogue- and its cemetery section. The shul donated its unused burial plots to the OU.
While processing the donation, we realized something important:
- Thousands of unused plots are owned by members of our community.
- Some people don't realize they have them.
- Others don't know they can do anything with them.
- Selling plots privately is difficult and often restricted—but donating them creates real impact.
We now offer families a simple path to:
- Gift unused plots to the Jewish community.
- Receive a large tax deduction.
- Help ensure affordable and dignified burial for others.
We currently hold a limited number of plots available for subsidized sale. Anyone interested in purchasing should contact us.
